KUWAIT CITY, June 13: The remains of three overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who died in a fire in Mangaff area will be repatriated to the Philippines next week, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) announced. The repatriation process of these victims who lost their lives in a tragic building fire in Kuwait has begun.

The Filipino workers who died were Jesus Oliveros Lopez, Edwin Petras Petilla and Jeffrey Fabrigas Catubay. The survivors who were on duty during the fire include Mario Abrenica, Jimmy Cancino, Noriel Badion, Ralph Aguero and Raymond Gahol. In addition, five of the 11 Filipinos working in the building have been confirmed safe, while two others, Michael Dizon and Julio Montemayor, are currently in the intensive care unit (ICU), and one, Mario Bruce, has been discharged.

The victims, who were employed by the same Kuwaiti construction company, NBTC, and lived in the affected building, died from smoke inhalation while they were trapped in the fire. Two other overseas Filipino workers are still hospitalized in critical condition, while six others are safe, according to Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac.
