Jamaican reggae superstar and undisputed king of couples rock, Beres Hammond, will return to Broward County for two nights of concerts as summer winds down.
Hammond “Journey of Forever Gratitude” It will stop at the Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25, with performances beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Beres Hammond was born Hugh Beresford Hammond on August 28, 1955, in the coastal town of Annotto Bay in St. Mary Parish, Jamaica. From a young age, he was immersed in his father’s collection of American R&B music, listening to legends such as Sam Cooke, Otis Redding and Marvin Gaye, as well as jazz masters. His love of music grew during the era of Jamaican ska and rock and roll, mainly influenced by Alton Ellis. Hammond also drew inspiration from reggae icons such as Peter Tosh, the Heptones and Ken Booth.
