Hardanger’s visit was so pleasant that Raul (47), one of the greatest Spanish footballers of all time, took his wife on holiday to Norway.
At 7pm on Wednesday, three-time European Champions League winner Raul posted a photo of himself and his wife Mamen Sanz in front of the ‘Salmon Eye’, an art installation in Rosendal on the Hardangerfjord.
Raúl is a club legend, having made 550 appearances for one of the biggest football clubs in the world. No one in history has made more appearances for Real Madrid than him, and he also scored the third most goals for the club, with 323.
What a great advertisement for Norway it must have been when the man with 102 caps for his country and three million followers on Instagram posted photos of his Norwegian holiday in his history feature.
The German EC was on a break and although there were no football matches for a few days, the 47-year-olds arrived in Hardanger by seaplane.
Two days ago, he congratulated his wife on their silver wedding anniversary on social media, so perhaps Norway had a little extra celebration.
The 47-year-old is the coach of Real Madrid’s reserve team.
