Tomorrow, August 21, in order to continue the constitutional process of appointing a provisional government, the head of state, Rumen Radev, will hold meetings and talks with the persons provided for in Article 1. Paragraph 99. Article 5 of the Constitution provides for the appointment of an acting prime minister. This was announced by the Presidential Palace.
We recall that on August 19, Radev said that due to the presence of Karin Stoyanov, he would not sign the decree of the caretaker government proposed by the caretaker prime ministerial candidate Gorica Grancharova-Kozhaleva, and the early parliamentary elections were postponed until after October 20.
The President called on the National Assembly to fulfill its obligations to fill the “domestic books” so that it can fulfil its obligations under Article 99 of the Constitution regarding the establishment of a caretaker government. The President noted that of the ten potential candidates for Prime Minister, two are vacant, two have expired their terms and all four representatives of the Bulgarian National Bank face complex situations related to European legislation.
