Rabies case in Uuidi region: Dogs still roam the streets despite ban

I think every dog ​​owner should try to respect this act because it is good for all of us.”

Ms. Ouedraogo: “I don’t see any dogs here. Maybe they exist at other intersections, otherwise I don’t see any here. Most people who live here are Muslims and their religion doesn’t allow them to have dogs in their yards, that’s why there are no dogs around. But I believe those who have dogs must take into account the ordinance to protect us.”

Hamado Zoungrana: “This note was not respected, as dogs are still walking around. We have even witnessed scenes where children were attacked by dogs more than twice. It is sad that despite the press release, some people let their animals out. If it is too complicated to keep them at home, at least get them vaccinated.”

It’s true that there are a lot of dogs in the neighborhood, but we haven’t heard of anyone getting bitten and contracting rabies. We have two dogs. We try to respect the press release and lock them up, but it’s not always easy with the kids coming in and out. Usually at night we let them out to relieve themselves because they don’t like to relieve themselves in the yard. But both my dogs are vaccinated. They have up-to-date vaccination records.”
