The Qatar Diabetes Association has organised the ‘Support Event for Children with Diabetes’ as part of its various summer programmes for people with diabetes of all ages.

The Qatar Diabetes Association, in organizing such purposeful events and programs, held several meetings with its “Type 1 Diabetes Children Support Group,” noting that the group, which works with the support of the association’s health team, serves as a social communication platform among parents of children diagnosed with diabetes.

This communication enables these children to receive recreational activities, support and support for their families, and care through group discussions.

Dr Abdullah Al-Hamaq, Executive Director of the Qatar Diabetes Association, said that participating in a diabetes support group is extremely beneficial as it allows communication with others facing the same challenges, thus helping to ease the burden of responsibility by sharing information, exchanging advice and experiences, rather than… a sense of difference, while parent participants can discover many forms of help.

It is worth noting that the Qatar Diabetes Association, a member of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, offers many different summer activities and events to support children diagnosed with diabetes and those living with diabetes, including learning many self-reliance skills and taking care of themselves in diabetes care and management, among others, which is one of the useful recreational programs and activities.
