Puerto Rico will host the XIV Felix Santiago Oliver Confia Paso World Horse Riding Championships from July 18 to 21, 2024, bringing together the best riders and riders in the world.

The mega event will take place at the Marcelo Trujillo Panis Stadium in Humacao, where the most experienced riders and riders from Colombia, Aruba, Canada, Curacao, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, the United States and Puerto Rico will compete for gold medals in 20 categories and the World Champion Nations Cup.

“We are very proud, but also have a great responsibility, to host the best riders and riders in the world, who have trained for two years on the CONFEPASO circuit to be eligible to compete in this great event,” said Jerón Muñiz, president of the Puerto Rican Horse Breeding Foundation.

Paso riding enhances style, grace, rhythm and the special relationship between the horse and rider and rider to rider. It is the art of maintaining precise control over the horse and handling the horse in different ways to achieve the best performance from the horse. All this while maintaining an aesthetic and postural balance that enhances the appearance of both rider and horse.

Mayra Vega, president of the Puerto Rico Equestrian Team, commented: “The judges look for riders and riders who can maintain the postures required for dressage and who can keep the horse in top condition, demonstrating their ability to handle.”

The judging for this event is 100% in line with the parameters defined by the Confepaso Unified Judging System for Equestrian. Athletes will compete for gold medals and the World Champion Nations Cup in 20 categories:

Added to this are three VIP tables where you can experience an event of this calibre first-hand.

“We organize events like this to allow the general public to have a different experience of enjoying the competition, for visiting countries to take back a unique souvenir, for specimens to be in the best conditions, for athletes to fight for medals and keep them in their hearts. This competition was the best ever organized,” commented Jafet Santiago, president of Sparkof, the company responsible for all production and assembly links.

It was also announced that in addition to the competition, an opening ceremony, family activities and cultural exhibitions are expected to be held.

The Foundation of Puerto Rican Horse Breeders (FCCPR) is a non-profit entity dedicated to promoting, encouraging and encouraging Paso horses and horseback riding.

The Confepaso International Foundation (CONFEPASO) is an entity conceived for the Federation of Equestrian Associations and Federations, advocating equality, with legal status and permanent nature in the development of equestrian, cultural and amateur equestrian sports activities, which can carry out its activities on everyone.
