The project provides opportunities for young people aged between 16 and 25 who are currently unemployed or enrolled in a training institution.
This is a training initiative launched by the government this month under the Job Start Plus Scheme.
The Job Start Plus Programme was launched in 2019 with support from the Department of Labour, Social Security and the Third Sector to assist in reducing youth unemployment overall.
A main goal is to help young people take the first step towards a brighter career in Barbados, prepare them for work and provide them with opportunities to gain meaningful work experience.
Those interested can sign up online for the next training, which is scheduled to begin next month.

It assists Barbados employers by providing tailored training, career guidance and direct employment opportunities. It enables participants to develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in today’s competitive job market.
The youth will participate in a two-week workplace training workshop that focuses on workforce readiness and personal development skills. These include areas such as effective communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, emotion management, work ethics, resume writing, effective job search strategies and interview techniques.
The Job Start Plus program also places an emphasis on inclusion and growth, working with local businesses to ensure participants receive the support they need to thrive. (Public Relations)
