Prijedor – Tonight in the gem shop of the Kožare Museum an event for the promotion of Pera Radulović’s novel “What is the Challenge” was held.
This is the fourth novel by the Prijedor native, who is a mining engineer by profession and started writing when he was in his sixties.
He published his first novel, “Hunting, Sex, and That’s All,” in 2019, “The Other” two years later, and the novel “Newton’s Third Law” in 2022.
Radulovich told reporters that writing has become more challenging for him as he gets older.
“My guiding philosophy is to try to be different each time. This time it’s a realistic story of a small person and an action that could happen to any of us. I got the inspiration from my son’s story. I thought it was an interesting story, even shocking, and I processed it so that the reader could also be interested,” Radulovich said.
The novel’s critic Tamara Dragic from Banja Luka said his novel was different from the previous three and would be a challenge for the audience, Srna reported.
“Over the years that I’ve worked with him as a writer, he has matured. The first two novels were distractingly light literature, the third was difficult, but the fourth is in a way emotional and a genre family drama because of the lives of two families and their comic and tragic fates,” Dragic said.
Gordana Vera, director of the National Library “Ćirilo i Metodije”, the organizer of the promotion event, pointed out that this is a local author whose novel passed the competition for local authors to publish their works.
“Although he is not a professional in the literary world, this does not diminish the author’s talent for writing, and I hope this will serve as a springboard for him because he is definitely worth it as a writer,” Vera said.
She announced the continuation of the promotion of local writers at the institution, followed by the “monodrama” work of Srećko Marčeta, a writer from Novigrad.
