Garo Kaprielyan, a well-known member of Istanbul’s Armenian community, was attacked on the heavily Armenian island of Kinaliada near Istanbul.
According to the Istanbul-based Armenian weekly Agos, Kapriyyan was attacked by employees of a store on the island, who beat him and hurled insults at him using language related to his nationality. Garo Kapriyyan reported the beating to the police, saying that one of his fingers was broken.
