After the resignation of Sterline Civil, Professor Claude Edouard was elected as the Secretary General of the EDE Party.
Maître Sterline Civil announced her resignation as Secretary General of the Party Committed to Development (EDE) for personal reasons in a letter dated August 30, 2024. In the letter, Sterline Civil, former Ministerial Advisor at the Permanent Mission of Haiti to the United Nations, stressed that during the 17 months she served as President of the EDE Party, she had the privilege of working with outstanding people who have left an indelible mark on his life.
Following the resignation of the civil diplomat, the EDE party notified that it would organize elections for Friday, August 30, 2024, with Professor Claude Edouard elected Secretary General of the party and Professor Maxime Fortyl elected Deputy Secretary General of the party.
It is important to note that Professor Sterline Civil served as Director of Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and she also served as Minister Counselor at the Permanent Mission of Haiti. United Nations Based in New York, she is also a university professor, sharing her expertise by teaching courses on the UN system, new actors in international relations, international human rights protection and introduction to international relations. She has proven her leadership abilities during her 17 months as EDE Party President.
