Libreville, Thursday, July 18, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – The Transitional President spoke on Tuesday in Libreville with Mesfin Tasew. The meeting between General Brice Clotel Origi Nguema and the CEO of Ethiopian Airlines was dedicated to the development of the civil aviation sector in Gabon, especially through partnerships.

In fact, Mesfin Tasew updated the Head of State on the training programs provided by the Ethiopian Civil Aviation University in cooperation with the Gabonese National Scholarship Agency, which has trained 330 young Gabonese in professions such as pilots, air operators, aircraft mechanics, etc. He assured that this cooperation will be extended to other areas of civil aviation.

The President attached importance to the training of these young people and instructed the relevant ministries to strengthen cooperation with the head of Ethiopian Airlines. Prior to the meeting with Mr. Mesfin Tasef, the Head of State met with Moroccan Awad Youssef, who leads a group of investors from Morocco who intend to support the socio-economic development of Gabon, especially the civil aviation industry, quarries, mines, etc.

In addition, he intends to hold training courses for Gabonese youth in Gabon and the Kingdom of Sharif, and then transform the local mining industry to create wealth for local development.

Likewise, the President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization, Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano, also went to the Transitional Presidency to express his appreciation for the public policies adopted by the Transitional Authorities, in particular those supporting the development of the civil aviation industry in Gabon.

This meeting between the Transition President and ICAO President, Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano, took place in the wake of the ninth Africa-Indian Ocean Regional Civil Aviation Week, dubbed “Africa Week 2024”, held in Libreville.
