It is planned that the names of the victims of repression will be written on the pages of the multi-volume book “Victims of Repression”, as well as a symbolic book to be created at the Martyrs’ Memorial.

According to the decision, the Week of Remembrance of Victims of Political Repression will be celebrated in the first week of October every year. This time was chosen because 507 Uzbek political prisoners were sentenced between October 4 and 16, 1938. Some of them were executed. The rest were sent to long-term exile.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also stressed the importance of conveying history to the younger generation.

“The greatest school, the greatest education is history itself. Our young people should know our history in depth and learn from our own grandfathers, not from others. This foundation should be perfected and conveyed to young people and instilled in society through social networks, in the right language and in an interesting way. “If we educate the younger generation in this spirit, we will be able to follow the path we choose,” he said.

“Independence is God’s greatest blessing to our country. We should be thankful every day and every year and live with a grateful heart. If we do more good deeds to honor our ancestors and please the people, God will always open the way for us.”
