The actual swearing-in ceremony took place this Sunday afternoon, and was administered by Dr. Trump, the president of the Supreme Court. I do not know Faustin.

President Kagame, accompanied by Ms. Janet Kagame, held the national flag in his left hand and swore: “I, Kagame Paul, publicly swear to Rwanda that I will not betray the Republic of Rwanda, I will abide by and protect the Constitution and other laws, I will perform my duties, I will fight for the peace and sovereignty of the country, I will strengthen the unity of Rwandans, I will never use the power given to me for my own benefit, and I will fight for the interests of all Rwandans. If I take this oath, I will be punished by law. God help me.”

The oath was met with loud applause from the people at the Amahoro Stadium who were delighted that he had publicly accepted by taking the oath the responsibility they had elected him to continue to lead Rwanda.
President Kagame signed a document in front of the President of the Supreme Court swearing in to lead Rwanda for the next five years.
After the President of the Supreme Court signed the oath, Ntziliyayo Faustin presented President Kagame with the national emblem consisting of the Constitution, national flag and emblem of the Republic of Rwanda.
The Rwandan Armed Forces thanked the President and the Commander-in-Chief of the Rwandan Armed Forces for providing them with what they need for their work.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Rwandan Armed Forces, General Mubarah Muganga, presented President Kagame and the Commander-in-Chief of the Rwandan Armed Forces with a sword and shield as a symbol of protecting the country’s sovereignty.
President Kagame also adopted the national anthem as one of the symbols of the country. Before the national anthem is played, the army fires 21 rounds of gunfire to pay tribute to the head of state.
The letters C IN C (Commander In Chief) were engraved on the body, meaning Commander-in-Chief.
