On Thursday, the team of the Bonds coach Ronald Koeman won the first test match of the preparation for the European Cup with a 4-0 victory over Canada in Rotterdam. Jeremie Frimpong from the German double champion Leverkusen made the score 1-0 through Memphis Depay (50th goal) and then scored himself (57th goal) to make the score 2-0. Substitute Wout Weghorst (63′) also succeeded, and then Liverpool center back Virgil van Dijk (83′) scored the last point.
The Netherlands now heads into a dress rehearsal against Iceland on Monday, which will also go ahead in Rotterdam. At the European Championship, Elftal will face Poland in Hamburg on June 16. Top favorites France and Austria also await in a tough Group D.
