PPUC staff trained on renewable energy integration

PPUC staff participated in a Pacific Island Renewable Energy Grid Integration Workshop hosted by the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute (HNEI) from June 26-28, 2024. HNEI is established to support the Republic of Palau in achieving its renewable energy (RE) goals. The workshop consisted of face-to-face classroom sessions to identify and determine potential needs for follow-up support that HNEI may provide to various entities.

As PPUC transitions to renewable energy, we face new and uncommon challenges; most of which are unforeseen and difficult to predict. In this regard, we need all the support available, especially support like this workshop, which directly contributes to capacity building at PPUC. Sustainable change can only be achieved by equipping our professionals with the necessary knowledge, skills, and resources to navigate the complexities of renewable energy integration.

PPUC thanks the Palau Energy and Water Authority (PEWA) and HNEI for this opportunity, and we look forward to continued collaboration as we accelerate the transition to renewable and clean energy.
