ST. KITTS AND NEVIS (WINN) — At approximately 9:52 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2024, police received a report of a vehicle with two male decedents with apparent gunshot wounds near Newton Ground Bay. Officers from the Sandy Point Police Station and other departments responded to the scene.
Upon arrival at the scene, police found the bodies of Devin Parris, 30, of Stoney Grove, Nevis, and Jemaine Smithson, 9, of Cradock Road, Nevis, lying face down in a red Honda Fit with license plate number R 66, with apparent gunshot wounds to the head.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the two left their family residence at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024, intending to attend a birthday party at the Caribbean Cinema. However, they never arrived at their destination, and subsequent calls to Devin’s cell phone went unanswered.
On the morning of August 2, a concerned citizen in the Newton Ground area discovered a vehicle parked in the bushes, heading south, with a body inside.
District Medical Officer Dr. Medrano inspected the scene and pronounced both dead at about 11:10 a.m. The bodies were stored pending autopsy as the investigation continues.
The Royal Saint Christopher and Nevis Police Force is working to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident and is urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
