Mr. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh Municipality, instructed the 70th Brigade in charge of spraying mosquito repellent and the Phnom Penh Municipal Health Department to conduct shootings in high-risk areas to prevent the spread of dengue fever to people in Phnom Penh.

He gave the above instructions when he presided over the launching ceremony of mosquito repellent activities in Phnom Penh districts, villages and communities at the Capital Hall in Phnom Penh on the afternoon of August 17.

On this occasion, Mr. Kang Seng also sent a message to all Phnom Penh people, please trust the authority and strength of the Royal Government, we have done our best to serve the interests of the people. Obviously, a large number of our troops are now providing security for the people to prevent unscrupulous groups and extremists from planning to hold demonstrations on August 18 to overthrow the legitimate Royal Government, and some of our troops will be used to prevent and control dengue fever in accordance with the instructions of His Majesty King Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The governor went on to say that the 70th Battalion and the Phnom Penh Municipal Health Department hope to spray this mosquito repellent throughout Phnom Penh, especially in high-risk areas, to prevent dengue fever.

He added that the work of spraying mosquito repellents may seem small but it brings a lot of benefits to people, namely spraying mosquitoes can prevent dengue fever, if not prevented, when children have dengue fever, they will suffer from dengue fever. We have to lose time to take care of children and lose more money.

In addition, Phnom Penh Municipal Health Department Director Dr. Ngy Mean Heng confirmed that on the first day of the mosquito repellent campaign, the team was divided into seven districts, including: Khan Meanchey, Khan Sen Sok, Khan Por. Senchey, Khan Russey Keo, Khan Toul Kork, Khan Boeung Keng Kang and Khan Daun Penh.
