MANILA: The Philippine government on Monday (Aug 26) strongly condemned China’s “repeated aggressive, unprofessional and illegal” actions in the South China Sea, following a week of a series of air and sea clashes and incidents between China and the Philippines.

Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro said on Monday that China’s actions were “clearly illegal” after a clash near Sabina Shoal.
“We have to expect this kind of behavior from China because this is a struggle. We have to be prepared just in case and get used to this kind of behavior from China, which, as we have repeatedly stressed, is clearly illegal,” Teodoro told reporters.
