In a phone call with the president-elect, Kazakh President Tokayev once again congratulated Pezeshkian on his election and wished him success.
He said that during the tenure of the late Iranian president, the relations between the two countries were moving in an increasingly developed direction based on mutual trust, “I hope this process is under your control.
He stressed that Russia is interested in developing mutual cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the areas of transit, energy, technical engineering services, finance, economic and trade exchanges, regional cooperation, and interaction within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Eurasian Economic Union.
The Iranian president-elect thanked the Kazakh president for his congratulatory message and phone call, believing that developing relations with Kazakhstan is one of the priorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign policy and a manifestation of strengthening good-neighborly and friendly relations. He also said that “the two countries have broad and strong potential for cooperation in transit, energy and technical engineering to expand their relations.
Pezeshkyan said Iran’s transit routes are the most reliable and cost-effective way to connect Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries with open waters and global markets, adding that Iran and Kazakhstan have good capabilities for regional and international cooperation, including through organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Eurasian Economic Union.
The Iranian president-elect stressed the need to do everything possible to stop the war and alleviate the suffering of the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza and thanked Kazakhstan for its positive vote on the UN General Assembly resolution on the status of Palestine in the United Nations.
