Yesterday, I raised his hand in victory, today I will carry his coffin on my shoulders.” He added, “The assassination of Haniyeh will make the bond between Iran and Palestine stronger than before, and the path of resistance and defense of the oppressed stronger than before.”
The Iranian President stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will defend its territorial integrity and honor and make the terrorist occupiers regret their cowardly actions.
Pezeshkian also quoted the Quran: “God is indeed the Almighty, the Retributive.” (Quran 14:47)
Ismail Haniyeh, chairman of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, and one of his bodyguards were assassinated in his official residence in the Iranian capital early Wednesday morning.
Haniyeh attended the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s new President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran on Tuesday (July 30).
