Pezeshkian issued a formal order on Sunday appointing Haji Mirzaei as head of the presidential office.
Haji Mirzaei served as education minister in the government of former President Hassan Rouhani.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from the University of Tehran, a master’s degree in management from the National Academy of Management, and a doctorate in sociology from the Islamic Azad University.
Earlier in the day, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, formally approved Pezeshkian as the president of Iran. He will be sworn in at the parliament on Tuesday.
