LIMA, June 24 (Sputnik) – Peruvian President Dina Boluarte will pay a state visit to China from June 26 to 28, her press office confirmed on Sunday.

“The President’s work agenda includes important political and business meetings in strategic cities such as Shenzhen, Shanghai and Beijing. On June 28, he will meet with China’s top authorities, including President Xi Jinping,” the release said.

In Shenzhen, the Peruvian president will inaugurate an exhibition of more than 150 pre-Columbian artifacts from 14 Peruvian museums, an event that will help “spread the knowledge of Peru’s ancestral civilization and promote inbound tourism from China.”

The trip will include several meetings between Boluarte and Chinese businessmen, especially presidents of large multinational companies such as Huawei. The two sides will sign an agreement to provide new information technology training for 20,000 young professionals; BYD will be invited to study the construction of an electric car factory in Peru; China COSCO Shipping Group is the main shareholder of the large port of Chancay, which will be inaugurated in November next year.

In this context, the statement recalled that China is Peru’s first trading partner and one of its largest investors.

On June 28, Dina Boluart will meet with the heads of China’s legislative and executive branches and President Xi Jinping in Beijing.

“During this presidential meeting, important agreements will be signed to strengthen political dialogue, investments, technology transfer, tourism and greater access for Peruvian products to the huge Chinese market,” the statement said. (Sputnik)
