The construction will close Harvey Ave.

There will be extensive nighttime construction work on the Bertram Pedestrian Bridge over the next month, so please be prepared for traffic delays.

Bird Construction Group will close Harvey Avenue between Water and Richter streets on the evenings of Sept. 14 and 15. During the closure, vehicles will be detoured to Lawrence and Leon avenues, and large trucks will be required to use Clement Avenue.

The pedestrian bridge will continue to be under construction for three more nights, but portions of Harvey Avenue will remain open. Westbound lanes will be closed between Water and Richter on September 16 and between Ellis and Richter on September 22. Eastbound lanes will be closed between Ellis and Richter on September 21.

The direction of the opening will be configured for two-way traffic to allow vehicles to pass through the construction site.

The interchange will allow pedestrians to cross Harvey and Leon avenues between the Central Greenbelt communities on the south side of Kelowna’s main thoroughfare.

The project is expected to be completed in December.
