The woman provided the media with documents proving she is the mother of the billionaire’s three children
Telegram founder Pavel Durov, who has five recognized children, wrote Forbes.
Irina Bolgar, who lives in Switzerland, contacted Forbes to ask that the number of Pavel Durov’s children in the billionaires ranking be corrected from two to five, saying that she is the mother of the founder’s three youngest children. She sent supporting documents to the editor.
Irina Bolgar was born in Leningrad in August 1980; she is a lawyer by training, working in civil law. Pavel Durov is four and a half years younger than her. Bolgar told Forbes in a telephone interview that she met Pavel Durov in the summer of 2012, six months later they began living together, and in December 2013 their first child was born – daughter Leia. In January 2016, Daniel was born in St. Petersburg, and in September 2017, David was born.
The Bulgarian lived with the children in St. Petersburg until 2018, when she went to Durov in Dubai, but could not obtain a residence permit because, under UAE law, children born out of wedlock cannot be legalized in the UAE. The legal legislation in force at the time in 2019 led Irina and her children to move to Latvia, and in 2020 to settle in Switzerland. There, the children’s birth certificates and Durov’s paternity test were translated into French.
According to Bolgar, she and Durov had not lived together in the past few years, but they had seen each other regularly and traveled together as a family.
Until recently, Forbes knew only about two of Durov’s children, born to Durov’s classmate Daria Bondarenko – daughter Alina Durova (born in 2009) and son Mikhail Durov (2010).
Let’s recall Pavel Durov’s earlier TellHe became a sperm donor 15 years ago and now has more than 100 biological children in 12 countries.
