Have you ever questioned what it means to be a part of this life, as you read this? Well, that was the question posed in a play I saw last Friday at Estudio Paulsen near Las Peñas. It was titled The girls from three and a half floppy disks, The main characters are all actresses Michel Zamudio yes Stef Alarcon.
They play the roles of two women whose lives are filled with drugs, violence, abandonment and prostitution. Two “easy-living girls”, although I don’t know how easy it is to live in poverty, loneliness and emptiness.
Thanks to the passionate performances of the actresses, the audience is able to relate to the story of these two characters, who during the day try to be “mothers” or “housewives”, while at night they present their lives and even their bodies in a popular bar.
There are some humorous moments on stage, but there is also a lot of room for reflection, and be careful about the “pity” that the audience can easily feel for the two women, because in order to get out of their financial problems, they will put themselves in danger, which foreshadows a tragic ending.
But let’s leave Spoilers Leaving aside the topic, let’s talk about the characterization that each actress has done in this production. Alarcon gave us a character that sometimes struck me as sincere, nonchalant and even shameless. And Zamudio showed us a woman who is slightly more alive, who, over time, is more willing to hide her sorrows and keep them in the shell she wears. Given the plot of the story, both discover their vulnerable side and open up to realize that they have always had each other.
This work makes necessary social criticism of our times by adjusting some details in the script, allowing us to see that the life of the “comfortable girl” is not so comfortable.
