A new team is coming to the Eastern Conference. After confirming his farewell to the Los Angeles Clippers, Paul George’s sports future was determined, and finally the Philadelphia 76ers concluded his signing with the maximum salary allowed.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed that George, who joins the duo of Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, signed a four-season, $212 million deal pending an extension being agreed upon soon.
In the early stages of the 2024 free agent market, Daryl Morey did a great job signing luxury second-tier players such as Andre Drummond and veteran Eric Gordon, and on the other hand, he agreed to a contract extension with Kelly Oubre Jr. for $16.3 million over the next two campaigns.
George played a total of 74 official games for the Clippers last season, averaging 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.
After five seasons in a Los Angeles jersey, George said goodbye after failing to come to terms on a new contract.

Free agent forward Paul George has agreed to a four-year, $212 million maximum contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to ESPN.
Sources said George’s contract includes a player option for the final season of the 2027-28 season. The contract will return George to the Eastern Conference to team with MVP center Joel Embiid and All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey in an effort to defeat the NBA champion Boston Celtics.
The 34-year-old George, a nine-time All-Star who has spent the past five seasons with the Clippers, averaged 23 points, six rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 263 regular-season games with the Clippers.
But now, George is gone. George was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2017 and then to the Clippers two years later as part of Los Angeles’ move to sign free agent Kawhi Leonard. The Clippers and George had been in talks for months about a potential deal but never reached an agreement. Sources said George wanted a new four-year contract and the Clippers offered three years.
