Juarez, a lawyer by profession, had for weeks been considered the Orange Bloc’s choice to head the so-called Democratic Bloc’s board of directors. Who is Patricia Juarez?

Juarez’s political career began in 2004 when he joined the former National Unity Party (now the Popular Renewal Party), which was founded by former Lima mayor Luis Castañeda Lossio.

During the first and second Castañeda governments (2003-2010), the lawyer served as Citizen Defense Manager for the City of Lima. In 2014, when the National Unity leader was elected mayor for a third time, Juarez became vice mayor.

Prior to taking up this position, the current Fujimori candidate unsuccessfully ran for parliament as a Peruvian living abroad for the National Unity Alliance in 2011. In 2013, she was one of the spokespeople for the campaign in support of the recall of former mayor Susana Villarán.

In National Unity, it became the National Women’s Secretariat from December 15, 2013 to March 2, 2014, and the National Political Secretariat from September 2, 2016 until the end of its membership.

During her time at the Sol Group and in the Lima Juárez City Council, she was an ardent defender of the Castañeda Losio management, responding to doubts and attacks against the mayor’s administration.

Towards Fujimoriism

In October 2020, almost two years after retiring from National Solidarity, Juarez joined Popular Force. A few days later, Popular Force leader Keiko Fujimori announced on social networks that the former deputy mayor had joined her government planning team for the 2021 elections.

Managing as a Member of Congress
