On the afternoon of Wednesday 17 July, Mali U23 faced Atletico Paris 13 in a friendly match at the Stade Municipal de Bron near Le Mans, which ended in a draw (2-2).
Under the leadership of coach Badla Alou Diallo “Conti”, the U23 Eagles showed a competitive face. Mali’s goals were scored by striker Cheickna Doumbia in the 33rd minute and midfielder Moussa Diakit in the 43rd minute.
The Eagles U23s will play their second friendly on French soil against Bobigny 93, which will take place at the Stade Georges Garnier Alonis at 4pm GMT this Friday.
