Panevěž is no longer immune to street “artists”. Their galleries usually become walls of buildings, most of which are located in the city center, but park benches, information kiosks and trash cans are also painted with aerosol paint.
As soon as people arriving from Pasvalis, Birzai, Riga enter the city, they see a smudged map of the capital of Aukštaitia.
Vilmina Kairienė, who is from Panevėžys and lives in Vilnius, admitted to Sekunde that she felt ashamed because her hometown does not process grease.
Former residents of Panevěž gathered a group of elderly people from the capital and invited all of them to visit the famous Stasis Eidrigevičius Museum.
“We took the passenger bus, and after getting off in Panevėžys, we took the most direct route to the museum. I won’t hide it: I was ashamed to lead my friend through the city”, says V. Kairienė.
