“We face reality, knowing that both in this parliament and in the next one there will certainly be a majority on the issue of partnership, and there is no need to annoy the public and to submit to the parliamentary hall draft laws that have no chance of being adopted”, – said LRT G. Paluckas on Wednesday in the “Daily Topics” program.
The MP added: “I think fellow conservatives, Liberals and liberals should learn these lessons, after all, even if they didn’t learn them, at least we learned them.”
He believed that social law issues related to partnerships could be resolved in other ways.
“If we talk about partnerships, this proposal fundamentally addresses certain social rights of same-sex people. Maybe these issues can be addressed in other ways, but these measures are still needed”, said G. Paluckas.
He also acknowledged that the Istanbul Convention required a wider discussion, as the problems and solutions defined therein had been transferred to the level of national law.
“Regarding the Istanbul Convention, the situation here is a bit more complicated, because the issues discussed and the solutions proposed have already been translated into national laws, so it can be said that the relations in our society will be qualitatively changed after the adoption of the Istanbul Convention. There is really nothing we can do about the reaction of our institutions to these ills,” the French Social Democratic Party said.
E LTA reminds that the current parliament has approved the civil union law project initiated by the ruling majority party after deliberation. In order to pass it, MPs must vote again. However, it is not clear whether the issue will return to the parliamentary agenda.
The project aims to regulate the property and personal non-property relations of persons who are not married but are entering into a mutual relationship.
