Palestine has requested an urgent meeting of the Arab League Council of Foreign Ministers to discuss how to:
- Mobilize political action at the Arab and international levels to stop ongoing Israeli aggression and hold perpetrators accountable.
- Provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
- Achieve peace and security on the basis of international law, resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
Palestinian Ambassador to the Arab League Muhannad Akluk called for an emergency meeting on Sunday to discuss Israel’s ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people, including the recent escalation of incursions by settlers and Israeli officials into the compound of Masjid Al Aqsa, and the unprecedented escalation in the Gaza Strip, where Israeli attacks have killed and terrorized civilians and destroyed residential buildings and infrastructure.
