Palau Koror – On August 23, Reng Collective officially launched the Youth Empowerment Workshop, which attracted more than 50 young participants from Palau, aged 18 to 30 years old.
The theme of the symposium was “Rising Waves, Rising Voices” and featured speeches from national leaders and experts in fields such as climate protection, culture and community development. Notable attendees included President Surangel Whipps Jr., Minister Ngiraibelas Tmetuchel and Chief of Staff Landisang Kotaro.

Founded by Palauan youth leaders Kenly Kenneth, Janine Tewid and Ayanna Ramarui, the Reng Collective is based on the Palauan concept of “Reng”. The organization aims to encourage youth participation in addressing climate change, nature conservation, cultural preservation and community development.
Previously, Reng Collective, in collaboration with the Taiwan-Palau Student Association, organized a garbage collection event on Ngereblobang Island on July 26, collecting a total of 24 bags of garbage.
The workshop and related events were supported by the Young Pacific Leaders Program, with support from the U.S. Department of State and the Sustainable Ocean Alliance. (By Eoghan Olkeriil Ngirudelsang)
