As of June 20, Palau is tied with the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) for third place in the 2024 Micro Games medal table, with 59 medals each.
Palau’s medal total includes six gold, 35 silver and 18 bronze medals.
The Palau table tennis team showed extraordinary dedication, playing until 2 a.m. and ultimately winning the gold medal.
Palau’s spearfishing team won the silver medal with a total catch of 157 pounds of fish.
In the indoor volleyball competition, both the Palau men’s and women’s teams had outstanding performances on the first day of the competition. The women’s team defeated Nauru in 4 sets, and the men’s team also defeated Kosrae in 4 sets.
Currently, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands tops the medal table with 65 medals, followed by Nauru with 62. Despite being in second place, Nauru has the most gold medals, winning a total of 45. (Author: LN Reklai)
