Opposition Leader Moses Shyne Barrow claimed that there is evidence of illegal voter registration, especially in the Cayonos area. Barrow noted that these are only allegations at the moment, but Dr. Ramon Figueroa intends to write to the Elections and Boundaries Commission to investigate the reports. He claimed that people who do not live in the country are given local addresses in the area when they register to vote in the next general election.

Opposition Leader Moses “Shain” Barrow: “The vote counters that Dr. Figueroa had there were treated unfairly, they were not given fair access, there was evidence of busloads of people coming into Cayonos, there were twenty people with different last names registered at certain safe houses, as I said, these are allegations, but Dr. Figueroa is going to write to the Elections and Boundaries department. We did issue a press release on this and we hope the media will look into this. I know Channel 7, Channel 5 and Love are always investigating and we hope to get to the bottom of things because I don’t want to spread rumors, but I know, for example, when the People’s United Party said I didn’t live at 80 King Street, that was a very, very big issue and it went all the way to the local court, so fairness is not enough. There were examples of thirty people registered at certain addresses. There are multiple examples of large numbers of people registered and different addresses in Cayonos, and that really needs to be investigated.”
