Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced the operation of a water tank in the Nahli area and connected it to Dubai’s water network. The new tank has a capacity of 120 million gallons and cost AED 287.8 million as part of efforts to provide an advanced integrated electricity and water infrastructure and increase the emirate’s water storage capacity.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, said: “Water security is a national priority for the UAE and the Water Security Strategy 2036 aims to ensure sustainability and continuity of access to water in both normal and emergency situations, and address long-term water security challenges in the future.”
