Southland dairy farmer faces prosecution for animal welfare violations
Animal welfare inspectors this week again found unacceptable conditions for cows at a Southland dairy farm, leading to a search of the property today.

“We have visited the farm 13 times over the last few months to carry out assessments, monitoring and inspections,” Glen Burrell, head of compliance and response at the Ministry for Primary Industries, told 1News.
“When our inspectors arrived earlier this week we found a number of concerning matters and that the standards were unacceptable.
“In these very serious cases, there will likely be prosecutions.”

I sincerely hope that POS will be prosecuted and even more actions will be taken. other The farmers can’t say they didn’t know/didn’t realize! Apparently there are too many cows on the pasture for them to handle!
