Abdulrahman Tiyani Your Excellency, Chairman of the National Security Council, Head of State,

Allow me, on the eve of National Arbor Day and the day after celebrating our true independence on July 26, 2023, to express once again the gratitude of the people of Niger for the successful restoration of the sovereignty and dignity of our country, through your unparalleled courage. However, I do not think that I am revealing a secret, because we recall that after the liberation of the people of Niger, one of the greatest wishes of the people of Niger was the release of all political prisoners, whether civil or military, which is with hearts and minds.

Mr. Chairman of CNSP,

After writing a first letter without a follow-up, I obviously do not want to write to you again on such a delicate issue. But as a citizen and former prisoner, temporarily released under judicial supervision for 18 months after the last presidential election, I feel a moral obligation to ask you for a humanitarian gesture in support of these people in a delicate situation. I agree that this issue is very delicate, because it is bold to ask a general who came to power at the risk of his life to launch a coup to release citizens accused of endangering national security. I respectfully ask you to release the political prisoners of the “Renaissance”. In conclusion, I believe that we all remember the words of the saint Amadou Hampâthé Bâ who warned us: “From the moment we are born, we enter an existence from which we will not be able to come out alive, no matter what we do.”

For military or civilian prisoners who are believed to have participated in an attack on national security, they have failed where you succeeded and deserve your understanding and tolerance. Therefore, you can take the risk of releasing them, especially since most of them support you and through them their families. This is the hope of being released.

The people of Niger are watching but saying nothing because they believe that you are studying the best way to release our compatriots in prison without harming your independence and that of justice. Your predecessor, former comrade General Barre (Psa), despite facing multiple assassination attempts, was left without a trace by the seal of the Divine decree on the day, the minute, the second, at the end of his term on Earth. Single political prisoner. The Holy Book we share advises: “*Say: O Allah, the Master of Absolute Authority. You give power to whom You will and You take it away from whom You will; You give power to whom You wish and You humiliate whom You wish. Good is in Your hands, and You are almighty.” (Quran: Surah al-Qur’an, chapter 3, verse 26) »*.

General, for all these reasons, I know that you are not afraid of humanity and that you will agree to release these brave citizens!

My General, in that case, please release dozens of political prisoners, release General Salo Suleiman who is too old to support long-term detention, release my Ibrahim Djibo, whose children still do not understand his status in the Zaire prison. Rest assured that no one can do anything to you, to General Salif Modi, to General Mohammed Toumba, to all your other comrades in the struggle except the Divine Will.
General, please accept my respects.

Labusani: No! This is a terrible conversation!
