The Okanagan Tattoo Show returns to the Kelowna Curling Club this weekend for a three-day festival featuring a host of tattoo artists from around the world.

More than 200 of the best tattoo artists and thousands of tattoo enthusiasts will take part in this colorful event from Friday to Sunday.

Kyle Hoffarth, who owns Kelowna’s Narrow Waters Tattoo on Pandosy Street, will be at the event and invites everyone to get tattooed for a weekend.

“We’re really looking forward to it. It’s a great way to discover new artists, especially from out of town,” Hoffas said.

“We’ll have multiple tables set up for people to get tattooed, with plenty of designs to choose from. It’s a great place to get to know the tattoo talent around the Okanagan and even further afield.”

While many people like to make reservations ahead of time to ensure they can find an artist they like, many booths offer drop-in times on weekends. Hoffas says this is a great way to meet new customers and show everyone your work.

Narrow Waters Tattoo only sees a handful of clients each day because they want to give customers room to move around, talk, observe the situation, and even give them a chance to get tattooed.

“It’s great for networking. We all know each other, and it’s great because it opens up opportunities for other shops to do guest spots. It’s great for us as artists, and it’s cool for the attendees because you get to hang out and see all the different styles that are out there,” Hoffas said.

Whether it’s realistic, black and grey, Japanese style or American traditional, the 2024 Okanagan Tattoo Show has something for everyone.

“I’m Polynacian, so I brought traditional tattooing. That’s what I do every year. Tattooing is from here, so I have to promote it as much as I can,” added Tautu Ellis of Bertram and Company Tattoo.

“Tattoo conventions have always been Christmas for tattoo artists. It’s where we meet, where we hang out, where we discuss new techniques, new styles, and how to tattoo in a brotherly community.”

The event will be held from 4pm on Friday to 7pm on Sunday. Grab your tickets now here.
