The National Unity Democratic Organisation (Nudo) has said former Namibia Football Association secretary general Barry Rukoro is not a member of the party and therefore cannot attend Nudo’s electoral congress.
Earlier this year, Rukoro announced he would run for Nudo’s presidency, despite the party insisting he was not a member.
Rukoro has said that he is a natural born Nudo member.
The party’s electoral congress got underway in Windhoek on Friday and is proceeding smoothly despite some delays. Nudo secretary-general Joseph Kauandenge said the delays were due to internal issues they were working to resolve.
Former Okakalala Constituency District MP Vetaruhe Kandorozu, Aminuisi Constituency District MP and party vice chairman Peter Kazongominja and Joseph Uapingene are vying for the party’s top post.
Ruccolo did not respond to calls and messages left Saturday.
