KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) has started issuing electronic national identity cards to Afghan migrants in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), officials said on Sunday.
NSIA wrote on the X platform that it opened an e-ID card distribution unit in the UAE on Saturday to provide more convenience to Afghans living in the country.
The opening ceremony was attended by Afghan Ambassador Maulavi Badruddin Haqqani, Director of Integration of Technical Affairs of Electronic ID Card of National Security Agency Sultan Ahmed Sabhaon, Head of Asan Khedmat Jahad Gul Pasoon, national traders and some Afghan people.
According to NSIA, Haqqani congratulated Afghans living in the UAE for opening the Ahsan service centre and promised to provide all kinds of cooperation in this regard.
NSIA said the new department will provide services such as electronic identity cards, birth certificates and death certificates. The department was inaugurated by NSIA General Manager Dr Faqir Mohammad Ziyar.
NSIA will open Asan Khedmat centres in other countries to provide more facilities to Afghan migrants.
