Now he is at loggerheads with a dead man – Ghanaians blame Akufo-Addo, saying Nkrumah cannot be hailed as the founder of Ghana

Social media users attack Ghana’s president Nana Akufo-AddoHe made the statement while addressing the people of Ghana ahead of the nation’s foundation day.

Nana Akufo-Addo, who comes from the Uttar Pradesh tradition, is dismissive of the role played by Ghana’s first president, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah of the CPP, in Ghana’s nation-building.

Although it is widely believed that Nkrumah played the most important role in Ghana’s independence, Nana Akufo-Addo said in his speech that he did not agree with this assumption.

According to him, many people played various roles at different times for Ghana’s independence.

The president’s comments did not go down well with social media users.

One person wrote: “No one has a problem with Nkrumah, not even foreigners, but you are the only one. No matter what you do, you and your dad will never be respected like him.”

Another said: “This is ridiculous, now he is arguing with a dead man, how will this benefit Ghanaians?”
