The PNCR leadership post is now uncontested after two rivals dramatically dropped out of the race on Thursday. Party leader Aubrey Norton stressed poverty alleviation, economic empowerment and social justice in his speech at the 32nd Biennial Congress of the People’s National Congress for Reform (PNCR) yesterday.
Besides outlining the governance vision for PNCR, education, healthcare and social services were also at the top of his pledge.
It is noteworthy that his former rivals, Amanza Walton-Desir MP and Roysdale Forde MP, were absent from the opening of the 32nd biennial congress, weeks before yesterday’s congress, amid turmoil within the party.
