Report 11
Various reports on recent Associated Press (AP) Investigating Israeli airstrikes that killed civilians in Gaza Last summer.

I have seen many reports about it – e.g. here, here and here – Request Associated Press The report states that 89% of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks were civilians and 11% were resistance fighters. This, in my opinion, fundamentally misreads the report’s findings and its alleged numbers.

What Associated Press The report actually says 11% People killed in airstrikes (Not artillery fire, not sniping, not ground invasion)on Houses and Residences (not public buildings, religious buildings, schools, health centres, open spaces) are combatants or “suspected combatants”, Not 11% of Palestinian deathsThe specific number is about 25%-33%, depending on whether Pacific Atrium or United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs figure.

in addition, Associated Press The report does not appear to detail whether the fighters allegedly killed were on “active service” at the time of the blast, or were simply at home as members of an armed group but not participating in combat at the time of their deaths (in any case they would have received military honours from their faction).

you can Click here to read the reportDespite the shocking figures it reveals, in places it reads like an apology for Israeli war crimes. Nonetheless, it is well worth reading for the brutality of Israel’s attacks on the people of Gaza over the last year. It is also notable that, despite the Irish media’s enthusiasm for reprinting the report, no media outlet has reported on it. Associated Press and Reuters wire reports rather than employing on-the-ground reporters in the region.
