The Ministry of Finance, in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and in coordination with the Prime Minister’s Office, is hosting the Timor-Leste Development Partners Meeting (TLPDM) 2024. The event will be held from May 15 to 17, 2024, at the Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão Auditorium of the Ministry of Finance in Etala Klaran, Dili.
This will be the first high-level dialogue between the Ninth Constitutional Government and its development partners since it takes office in July 2023. The meeting, themed “Time for Action: The Five-Year Plan of the Ninth Constitutional Government”, will be a platform to reveal and discuss the government’s strategic vision and priorities for the next five years. In addition, technical discussions will be held on four basic areas – social, economic, infrastructure and institutional strengthening – with a view to improving the alignment of development partners’ support with the government’s strategic objectives.
Co-chaired by the Minister of Finance, Santina Vegas Cardoso, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Bendito dos Santos Freitas, TLDPM 2024 will bring together senior officials of the Ninth Constitutional Government, members of the National Assembly, the corps of representatives of the diplomatic service, development partners, the private sector, civil society organizations, academia and social communications.
Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao will deliver a speech on the closing day, May 17, 2024, to emphasize the government’s commitment to the event and its importance.
TLDPM 2024 will conclude with a Development Partners Roundtable and Q&A session, giving each development partner an opportunity to provide updates on its activities and discuss alignment with the government’s strategic priorities.
