Niger announced on Tuesday it was “immediately” severing diplomatic ties with Ukraine, just two days after Mali accused Kiev of “supporting” “terrorist groups” following its crushing defeat of the Malian army in late July. Niger also accused Kiev of “supporting” “terrorist groups”, separatists and jihadists.
Niger, which is led by a military regime like Mali, also announced it would “refer the case to the UN Security Council for a ruling on Ukraine’s aggression,” government spokesman Amadou Abdramane announced at a televised news conference.
