The Seattle Kraken signed young forward Marty Beniers to a seven-year contract on Tuesday afternoon.
The agreement is worth $50 million, or $7.14 million per season. Beniers’ entry-level contract expires in the 2023-24 season, and he will become a restricted free agent starting July 1.
Beniers, the No. 2 pick in the 2021 draft behind Owen Power, won the Calder Trophy in his first full NHL season in 2022-23. He had 57 points in 80 games.
Last season, he totaled 15 goals and 37 points in 77 games. He has 103 points in 167 NHL games.
On the international stage, Beniers represented the United States at the 2021 World Junior Ice Hockey Championship and the 2022 Olympics.
