During the sacred defense period and the critical period of the spread of the coronavirus, and in the days when this ominous and deadly virus was raging across the country and everyone was in anxiety and fear, the nursing community provided a lot of services. In order to catch this disease, nurses sacrificed themselves, and their self-sacrifice was like a shield to guard the health of the people.

Now, the nursing community has raised some demands such as payment of claims and arrears, forced overtime and small remuneration previously received by nurses, unfavorable implementation of nursing service rates, etc. This is one of the issues raised by these loved ones.

Speaking on the “update on dealing with nurses’ needs and problems,” Ahmad Nejatian, head of the Nursing Systems Organization, said it was right that almost all agencies across the country entered this field to solve the problems of the nursing community.

He noted: “Perhaps one of our last follow-ups was a meeting with Health Minister Mohammad Reza Zafar Gandhi, where he and the President strongly stressed on addressing the problems in the health system. Particularly in the area of ​​nursing, we asked him general questions and decided that the Health Minister should give priority to his work.”

The head of the nursing system organization said: One of the other points selected today is that we serve the Deputy Attorney General of the State to follow up on the non-implementation of laws in certain areas. The biggest problem we have in nursing at the moment is that the laws have been approved in Parliament, but have not yet been fully implemented.

Nejatian added: “In some sectors, like the private sector, it was not implemented at all, and we said this and that and decided that the prosecutor’s office should also take serious steps to protect the rights of caregivers who have lost communities and people.”

He asked about the latest measures taken and whether a budget had been allocated. He said: Last week, when I announced the payment of 7 Hamat salaries to universities, according to the announcement issued to universities, they were obliged to pay salaries in the personnel field, especially in the nursing field, and the universities started.

The head of the nursing system organization said: They have paid two or three months of membership fees. Of course, the amount of the fees is not correct and it is not very clear, but some of the demands are being paid, but the main problem is that the problem can be fundamentally solved.

Nejatian added: “Nurses in general are underpaid, the nursing workforce is underfunded, and we have mandatory overtime; these are issues that have to be addressed at the root of the problem.”

He went on to say: We hope that the employment administration and the Ministry of Health will announce the price of overtime pay within a day or two. In addition, they will allow universities to hire 25,000 employees.

The head of the nursing system organization said: I think this will reduce the pressure on nursing colleagues in the short term. They will definitely hope that the strength will enter the system. God will give, and the amount of overtime will reach an acceptable level.

Nejatian talked about the activities of the medical center: Although there have been protests in many places, overall we have reached a stable state of service in the hospital and the hospital is providing services at full capacity; of course, we have also encountered problems in some areas, and we are working on solving this problem.
