The Court for the Repression of Economic and Financial Crimes resumed the trial of the case of D’Amaro Cámara et al on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, after a suspension of nearly a month.

From the beginning of the hearing, the parties raised the issue of the absence of the Treasurer of the National Transitional Council (CNT), Aissatou Diallo, who should continue to intervene and then request the referral of the case to petitions and pleadings. The President of the Trial Chamber, Yacouba Conté, agreed to this request and postponed the case to July 8 to allow for the continuation of arguments and the possible presentation of petitions and pleadings.

Recalling the incident, Amadou Damaro Camara, Michel Kamano, former first finance officer of the National Assembly, Zenab Camara, former second finance officer of the National Assembly, and Zheng Jinsuyi (alias Jin), the owner of the Kajimbo conjoined towers, were prosecuted for allegedly misappropriating 15 billion Guinean francs of public funds intended for the construction of the new headquarters of the National Assembly.
