Nepal Radio has started trial broadcasting through FM relay stations in Bajura district, one of the 77 districts of Nepal.

The trial transmission of 98 MHz FM started on Sunday morning from the relay station located at Kalajagra Porkhegadhi in Badimalika Municipality-7 in the district.

Senior technician Giriraj Niraula said the test transmission was carried out through a 500-watt transmitter through an FM relay station of Radio Nepal installed in Kalayajaghra and a relay tower of Nepal Telecom.

According to preliminary investigations, Radio Nepal can be heard in many other places in Bajura and Sudurpasim divisions, including Achham, Doti, Bajangarh, Baitadi, and Mugu, Kalikot and Humla districts in Karnali division.

Nepal Radio Executive Director Budhi Bahadur KC said that the purpose of setting up this FM relay station and conducting trial broadcast is to expand the coverage of Nepal Radio to the entire country.

ED KC informed that Radio Nepal aims to cover all parts of the country and has even started broadcasting from Bajura which is geographically remote.

Listeners in Bajura are happy to listen to Radio Nepal, especially the elderly who have not listened to Radio Nepal programs for a long time.

This is the 33rd FM retransmission station of Radio Nepal. Apart from FM, Radio Nepal broadcasts news and programmes on medium wave and digital platforms such as online news portal, Radio Nepal app, OTT and social media.
